MY NAME IS A. J. RYAN.
I'm a lifelong Broward County resident, a small business owner, a father of three, and part of a family that's called this community home for over a century. As Mayor of Dania Beach, I delivered results. Record investments in parks, infrastructure, historical preservation, public safety, and reserve funds with zero tax increases. New affordable housing. Schools kept open. Waterways cleaned up. I got the job done because I know how to bring people together and move things forward.
Now I'm running for County Commission because Broward families deserve a leader who understands what they're going through. Rising housing costs, insurance that keeps climbing, infrastructure that can't keep up. I've solved these problems at the local level.
Now, I'm ready to do it for Broward County.
My great-grandmother Genevieve served as national president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and stood alongside President Lyndon B. Johnson in service to veterans and military families. My great-grandfather opened a real estate office on Federal Highway in 1924 and also served as Chairman of Port Everglades and City Commissioner of Dania and Hollywood. My grandfather was a state representative and state senator in Broward County. My uncle held this same Broward County Commission seat. Service is in my blood.

As Mayor and City Commissioner of Dania Beach, A. J. delivered the results that matter to working families. Strong finances, real public safety investment, protected neighborhoods, and a city ready for the future.
Fiscal Strength & Economic Development
•Built the largest reserve funds in city history •Zero tax increases •Grew Dania Point to 1million sqft of restaurants, apartments, hotels, and community space •Expanded façade grant program for small businesses •Secured record grant funding for the city •Invested record millions in parks, infrastructure, stormwater, and public safety •Diversified the city’s portfolio with high-ROI real estate acquisitions
Public Safety
•Record investment in police and fire staffing and modern equipment •New high water rescue vehicles for storm response •License plate readers deployed across the city •Mental health response capacity built into emergency response •New rescue truck for fire and EMS •PBA Way recognition for officer support •Active partnership with BSO through ride alongs and direct engagement •Added police observation towers •Enhanced training for police and fire
Infrastructure and Growth
•New parks and green space added across the city •Created Arts Park and Veterans Park, two previously unused sites that beautify Dania Beach •Zoning and building codes modernized to support smart growth •Long term stormwater investment to harden the city against flooding
